You can call me Jackalope on this platform. :)



I'm an older adult usually mistaken for someone in the late teens or early-mid twenties, but trust me when I say that I was alive when most websites were self-hosted and populated with blinkies!



I identify as neither male nor female, so please feel free to picture me as a rabbit or hare, a ghost, or even an amorphous blob if you have a hard time imagining what I look like, lol.



My pronouns are they/them.



I'm from Southeast Asia and a lot of people my age are committed to their work or families, and people with similar interests to me are either much younger than me or live too far away from me. So it does get a little lonely. I do find events on Facebook (yuck, I know) and Reddit, and join servers on Discord.



I left my previous workplace a while back because the new management became too toxic, so I took up studies again so I can escape my previous work and fluff up my resume/CV.



It's probably worth noting, but I was diagnosed autistic a few years back, and ADHD a few months ago this year.



The reasons I signed up for this platform is so that I can break away from big apps such as Facebook and Instagram (both owned by Meta/Zucc), Tumblr, and BlueSky. I don't have a lot of patience for TikTok because it's too overstimulating, and I refuse to return to Twitter (I don't want to call it """X""", up yours Musk!)



I genuinely miss online spaces where you don't have to "build a brand" or plaster your real face everywhere, which is also why I'm here.
